Exterior of the tin is simulated wood background with lithograph trademark of woman(Dill’s girl) with raised arms, gold leaf highlighting is in very good condition, some wear considering age very acceptable. Lithograph cigar band surround body of the tin, promoting qualities of the pipe tobacco, identifies Factory No 25 of Virginia as manufacturer, also states Dills Best is “Put up in pocket tins, 25 cents foil packages, and 1 lb. can and glass jars”. Dill's Best was distributed by J.G. Dill Company in Richmond, Virginia. Dill’s was once one of the great Virginia tobacco companies known for their pipe tobacco. Dill’s also sponsored musicians, and actors in film and television in turn for some advertising space. NO dents, tin has been cleaned and waxed. Still has use of display or storage. Very good gold leaf retention.
